Tox (Neuromodulators)
How do neuromodulators work?
Neuromodulators are used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines. At Milani Aesthetics, we use the specific neuromodulators Xeomin® and Dysport®. They work by temporarily paralyzing the muscles responsible for causing certain wrinkles, such as frown lines between the eyebrows, crow's feet around the eyes, and forehead lines. The effects of neuromodulators typically last for 3-5 months before gradually wearing off.
Upper Face
-
Forehead: Botox can be injected into the frontalis muscle to reduce the appearance of horizontal lines that form when you raise your eyebrows.
-
Glabella (the area between the eyebrows): Botox can be used to soften the vertical frown lines that develop between the eyebrows, often referred to as "11 lines" or "glabellar lines."
-
Crow's Feet: Botox can also be used to treat the fine lines and wrinkles that appear at the outer corners of the eyes when you smile or squint.

Lip Fip
Unlike lip fillers, a lip flip focuses on relaxing the upper lip without adding volume. Here's how it works:
-
A small amount of neurotoxin is injected into the muscles around the upper lip.
-
The Botox temporarily relaxes the muscles, which can cause the upper lip to roll slightly outward, creating the appearance of a "lip flip."
-
The result is a subtle lifting and shaping of the upper lip, making it appear fuller and more defined without adding volume through a filler.
This procedure is perfect to address concerns like a "gummy smile" (where the upper gum is prominently visible when smiling) or to give the upper lip a more relaxed, pouty appearance.
Lower Face
-
Marionette lines: These are the lines that run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin.
-
Chin dimpling: Botox can be used to treat a pebbly or dimpled appearance of the chin.
-
Orange peel chin: Some people develop a "pebbly" or "orange peel" texture on their chin, which can be smoothed out with Botox.
-
Jawline slimming: In some cases, Botox can be used to slim the jawline by reducing the size of the masseter muscles. This can create a more V-shaped or oval facial appearance.

"Barbie Botox"
Also known as Trap Tox, Barbie Botox is when neurotoxin is injected into the Trapezius muscles. These are the muscles responsible for shrugging the shoulders or "hunching forward." The result of weakening these muscles is reduced tension, better posture, and slimming of the neck and shoulders.
